FIRST NATIONS YOUTH TRAINING
About the Program
The First Nations Youth Training Program is a work and training opportunity for First Nations youth who are interested in future employment in the natural resources sectors. The program has a structured environment for graduates to develop their own unique potential.
The objective of this program is to provide First Nations youth with a safe and structured training environment that will assist them in securing employment in the natural resource and hospitality industries. We hope our participants will graduate our program not only in possession of these skills, but also with a newfound sense of confidence and an awareness of their full capabilities.
The first priority for the program is the establishment of a strong foundation. Our program to date has been developed in partnership with regional First Nations organizations, the local campus of the College of New Caledonia, and support from governmental organizations and industry partners. Our intent is to build on our success thus far, and to continually evolve the training that we offer in order to maximize its value to our participants. The certificates and training from the most recent program are outlined in the program overview below.
The Experience gained in the program will help build a foundation of self confidence and leadership that is lifelong. The 2017 program concluded on October 27th.
