Scope: These are a few rules and recommendations to ensure safe traveling to our worksites this spring. We need to emphasize that your choice to travel in a manner minimizing any potential risk to contaminate or be contaminated from COvid-19 and any related or similar viruses will benefit our company and community and is very much appreciated. Here are a few rules of the road-
Driving to Blue Collar Camp:

Driving to Blue Collar Camp:
- Be completing the COVID APP and have already filed your journey management plan.
- If you share the trip, travel with planters who are in your same camp.
- Do not travel with people from other companies.
- Reduce passenger numbers when possible.
- Maintain physical distancing throughout the journey and wear masks within 6 feet.
- It is strongly recommended to not stop to visit family or friends on the journey.
- Do not pick up hitch hikers.
- It is strongly recommended you do not interact socially with people from other camps. Any social interactions or parties contradicts BCPHO guidelines and puts all camps at risk.
Journey Management:
- When traveling to and from towns or camp moves, a journey management plan is required to be completed and executed as planned.
- Pre-plan all stops for food, gas and bathroom breaks prior to travelling.
- Review provincial COVID regulation prior to travelling between provinces.
- Using the App, submit your journey management prior to season start up.
Fueling Up/Food Stops:
- When fueling at gas stations, maintain physical distancing from other customers. Utilize “pay at the pump” services to avoid contact with service counters and keypads during payment.
- Use a glove or paper towel when entering codes or pushing buttons as well as handling the gas pump equipment.
- Perform hand hygiene before and after fueling up.
- Bring a cooler of food when travelling to limit grocery store stops.
- Wear face masks upon entering any stores and when maintaining physical distancing is not practicable.
- Stay in accommodations that support COVID-19 protocols or camping – sleep at least 6 feet apart with other travelers not included in your household.
Air and Rail Transportation:
- Travelling by air and rail have been recommended as safe methods of travel when following the provider’s restrictions.
- Make arrangements with Blue Collar supervisors for pick-ups and transportation from airports/terminals.
- International travel requires two weeks of quarantine or a negative COVID-19 test result prior to travelling to camp.
